This is a three screen print. Screen order when printing wet on wet is important. The three screens in order of printing are red art, black art, and red/black text. "Wet on wet" means printing all the screens one after the other on top of the previous screens while previous layers are still wet. This means that ink from previous screen mixes with the later screens layers of ink and accumulates on the bottoms of the second, third and fourth screens. If one screen moves, then for 3-6 prints the image will have fuzzy edges where the accumulated ink on the bottoms of the other screens prints in different register from the screen that moved. Ha! This is why every time a screen is added the printing gets more touchy. Try it - you'll see.
Screen printing in the hands of an artist is not just a
technical skill - it is an art.
